About the event

EkiBeki workshop with a traditional artisan is a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the history and craftsmanship of a specific craft. A small way to ensure our traditional crafts remain relevant in our modern world. Here is how you can make the nest of this experience:

Prepare Ahead: Research the specific craft or skill that will be taught in the workshop. Understanding its historical context and significance can enhance your appreciation and learning experience.

Engage with the Artisan: Ask the artisan about their personal journey and experiences. Learn about the history and cultural significance of the craft from their perspective.

Ask Questions: Don’t hesitate to ask questions about the materials, tools, and techniques used. Artisans often have fascinating insights into the nuances of their craft.

Practice Diligently: As you practice the new skill, focus on the details and the effort involved. It’s a great opportunity to appreciate the intricacies of the craft. Reflect: After the workshop, take some time to reflect on what you’ve learned. Consider how this new knowledge connects to the broader historical and cultural context of the craft.

Share Your Experience: If appropriate, share what you’ve learned with others. It can help spread appreciation for traditional crafts and the artisans who keep these traditions alive.Enjoy the workshop and the chance to connect with a rich tradition through hands-on learning!
